Privacy Policy

Operator: Data Into Profits
What this policy covers
This policy explains what we collect when you use dataintoprofits.com, why we collect it, who sees it, and what choices you have.
Data Into Profits ("we" and "us") is an independent company that tells business owners about Mode (data.mode.inc). We are not Mode. Mode may pay us a referral fee if you work with Mode. When you start Mode's application, you leave our site, and Mode's own policies apply on Mode's site.
What we collect
On the last step of our survey, we ask you to type four things:
- Your first name.
- Your last name.
- Your email address.
- Your mobile phone number.
Before that step, you answer a quick check question and then five questions about your business. We record these answers:
- Your first answer to the quick check question about whether your business has years of email, Slack threads, tickets or files in a drive.
- The kind of business you run.
- About how many people on your team work at a desk or a computer, as a range.
- How long your business has been running, as a range.
- Which tools your team uses, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira or Asana, or a CRM.
- Whether you own the company.
Your answers to the five questions are held in your browser until you submit the contact form on the last step, and we receive them from the form when you submit it. Our analytics tool, PostHog, also records your clicks on the page as you go, including which answer you tapped. See Cookies and trackers below.
We also record a consent record each time you submit the form. It holds the exact consent text you were shown, the version of that text (consent-v1), the web address of the page, the date and time, and whether you ticked the consent box (consent_yes or consent_no).
When they are in the link you clicked, we also record information that tells us which ad or link brought you here:
- UTM fields: source, medium, campaign, term and content.
- Click identifiers that ad platforms add to links, called fbclid and gclid.
- The ad ID, ad set ID, campaign ID, placement and site source name.
After you submit the form, we send you to a second page. The web address of that page carries your first name, your email address, and two numbers from your answers (the team size value and the years in business value). The page uses them to greet you by first name and to build your link to Mode.
We never ask for files, passwords, or bank or tax details.
How we use your information
We use your information to do these things:
- Email you the founder's webinar (about 28 minutes) as our thanks for answering.
- Follow up with you about starting Mode's application.
- Call or text you, but only if you ticked the consent box.
- Share your answers and contact details with Mode, but only if you ticked the consent box.
- See which ads and links bring visitors to our pages, and see how visitors use our pages, so we can improve them and test two versions of a page against each other.
- Keep a record of what you agreed to.
- Run and protect our site, and follow the law.
Sharing with Mode
We share your answers and contact details with Mode only when you tick the consent box on the contact step. This is the exact text next to that box:
"Yes, Data Into Profits may share my answers and contact details with Mode (the company behind data.mode.inc) so Mode can contact me about its company data program and my application. Data Into Profits and Mode may each call or text me about that at the number I gave, including with automated tools. Agreeing is not required to apply or to buy anything. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to a text from either company to stop texts from that company. Privacy policy: https://dataintoprofits.com/privacy"
The box starts unticked. If you leave it unticked, we do not share your answers or contact details with Mode, and we do not call or text you. You can still go on to Mode's application. Mode's form will ask for your name and email again.
On the second page, the button to Mode's website is a link that carries two numbers from your answers: the team size value and the years in business value. It does not carry your name, email address or phone number.
Once Mode has your information, Mode's own privacy policy and terms apply to what Mode does with it. If you want Mode to stop using it, contact Mode directly.
Do we sell your information?
We do not sell your personal information for money to anyone. The only sharing of your answers and contact details with another company is the sharing with Mode that you agree to by ticking the box. Because Mode may pay us a referral fee if you work with Mode, some state laws may count that sharing as a sale. We treat it that way, and we do it only with your consent.
Tools and service providers
We use GoHighLevel as our CRM, which is where your contact details, survey answers and consent record are stored. We use SendGrid to send email. We use PostHog Inc. (PostHog) for analytics, and the PostHog data is stored in its US cloud. These providers handle your information for us so that we can run the site, send email and understand how the site is used.
Cookies and trackers
Our site uses PostHog, an analytics tool. PostHog sets cookies or similar browser storage and records the pages you view, your clicks, how long you spend on a page, your device, and your approximate location from your IP address. It also records your visit as a session recording, which is a replay of what happened on the page, such as where you moved the mouse, scrolled and clicked. It also builds heatmaps of where visitors click. We run A/B tests, which means different visitors may see different versions of a page. Recordings hide what you type into form fields, so your name, email address and phone number are not shown. We also remove your name, email address, phone number and the two numbers from your answers from the page addresses we send to PostHog. We do not use an advertising pixel, such as the Meta pixel, on our pages. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use a browser tool that blocks analytics to stop PostHog from recording your visit.
Texts and emails: how to opt out
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. Click it and we stop emailing you.
If you agreed to calls or texts, you can reply STOP to any text from us to stop texts from us. You can reply STOP to a text from Mode to stop texts from Mode. Reply HELP to a text for help. You can also email us at [email protected] and ask us to stop.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, and for as long as the law requires. We may keep your consent record for longer so that we can show what you agreed to. When we no longer need your information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the US state where you live, you may have these rights:
- To know what personal information we collect, use and share about you.
- To get a copy of it.
- To correct it if it is wrong.
- To ask us to delete it.
- To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of targeted advertising.
- To not be treated worse for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. Tell us your name, the email address and phone number you gave us, and what you want us to do. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. We will answer within the time your state's law requires.
Children
This site is for business owners. It is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that your information will never be accessed without permission.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated policy.
